Promoting funeral cost transparency...Join Now for FREE
As everyone knows, over the last 20 years, funeral costs have risen far in excess of the rate of inflation. One major contributing factor has of course been the steady and consistent increases in 3rd party fees, which, thankfully, most customers appreciate, are outside of the funeral director's control, but with average cremation disbursements today being about £1100, it doesn't seem right to us that we keep getting so many calls from members of the public complaining that they can't afford the ridiculous sums being charged by many funeral directors. We commonly hear of bills above 4 and sometimes even 5 thousand pounds, which for a standard cremation is completely and utterly unacceptable. It is with this in mind that we created our Fair Price Charter. Basically, the Charter acts as a national database of funeral directors who have all confirmed that they are willing to conduct a standard cremation funeral – including a hearse, coffin, staff, and 3rd party fees – for less than £3000. We feel that this is a fair sum for any reputable firm to charge for the level of work and resources required to conduct such a service.
In return for subscribing to the Fair Price Charter, the NFFD will signpost to you any enquiries we receive from members of the public who call us asking for the best-value services in the area local to you. We will also provide you with a certificate and window sticker, and make sure your entry on the Funeral Directors Register is updated with the Fair Price Charter logo. Particularly once we launch on mainstream TV, the buying public will know to always choose the services of funeral directors who subscribe to the Fair Price Charter, over those who do not. So if you haven't already done the sensible thing, then contact us NOW!, and ask to be included.Tweets by @TheNFFD Join Now for FREE
